Our Foundation
The Borzoi shown on this page were owned by the Lillstroms and lived at Windhound Farm. Wookie and Zip were the parents of Fargo; Homer (Windhounds His Homer-not pictured) and Wisp were the parents of Nikki. As novice breeders we felt that breeding Fargo and Nikki was an acceptable way to begin our kennel, Phoenixx, and about that time Windhound kennel was not actively breeding Borzoi.
Windhound’s Wookey,LCM 3
Windhound’s Wookey,LCM 3 was Fargo’s sire and also the sire of 30 other Borzoi. Wookey was our introduction to Borzoi when we went coursing at Windhound Farm in PA, where he occupied the corner paddock next to the drive-way. He insisted that you visit and pet him and he passed along his wonderful disposition to his son, Fargo, as well as his coursing abilities.
Windhound’s Zip, LCM 8, Can FCh
Zip was Fargo’s dam and a fabulous courser and is currently ranked #4 Borzoi in the ASFA Lifetime Top 10.
