Welcome to our website where we introduce you to our family of Borzoi. Follow along from our beginning in 1985 to the present day, starting with our foundation dogs and the accomplishments of the litters that we have bred.
Enjoy your visit with Phoenixx Borzoi, where form and function come in colorful packages!
Our introduction to Borzoi was through lure coursing. We were especially impressed with the Windhound line that we saw when coursing at the Windhound Farm in Pennsylvania. These hounds were very fit, athletic and came in an array of beautiful colors!
Our first Borzoi, Fargo did not fit the usual description of a sighthound being “aloof”, rather he was very out going and in fact had a “Fargo Fan Club” along the East Coast. He would approach anyone who caught his eye and instantly became their friend, so was familiar with most people at field trials. We were spoiled from the very beginning.
While we have been breeding for the Borzoi’s natural instinct to hunt and chase, we have also been trying to concentrate on good conformation. Finding both attributes in one Borzoi can sometimes be difficult, but we feel that we are well on our way to keeping those important aspects in our breeding program. Our goal is to breed Borzoi who not only meet the breed standard but are also functional and competitive in the venue for which they were originally bred.
Above all, our Borzois have wonderful, sweet temperaments and are a joy to own.
